Management Team

Bernie Rosenthal
Chief Executive Officer. Previously, the Co-Founder and Senior Vice President in charge of worldwide business operations at Tensilica. Prior to Tensilica, he held various executive and management positions at Synospys, AMCC and TRW.

 

John Reese
Chief Financial Officer. John joined Reaction Design from San Diego Research Center (SDRC), where he was the Chief Financial Officer who led the successful acquisition and transition of SDRC to a wholly owned subsidiary of ArgonST. Prior to SDRC, John served as the Chief Financial Officer of Syntricity.
 
Ellen Meeks, Ph.D.
Vice President, Product Development and Engineering Services. Ellen has led product development and engineering services for 10 years at Reaction Design, including industry consortia and 8 major software releases; served as the principal investigator on several Phase II SBIRs and cooperative research projects. Previously, she was a researcher at Sandia National Laboratories in the areas of combustion, materials, and plasma processing, and was also a principal developer of the third generation CHEMKIN Software.
   
Geoff Rogers
Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Prior to Reaction Design, Geoff served as Director of Sales at Tensilica. With over 20 years' experience in engineering and component sales, he has also held management positions at Synopsys, VLSI Technology and AMCC.
   
Scott Drennan
Director of Applications Engineering and Services. Scott joined Reaction Design from EPRI, where he was Product Line Leader for Turbines & Plant Optimization and Manager of Combustion and Emissions Services. Prior to EPRI he spent seven years with COEN, Inc., and conducted CFD analyses at Allison Gas Turbines.

 

Outside Directors

Supporting the management team, the Reaction Design board of directors boasts respected leaders with experience in several key industries served by the company's products.

Ralph Cunningham, Ph.D.Member of the Board. Provides invaluable petroleum and chemical industry experience, having served as CEO of CITGO, as President of Tenneco Oil Processing and Marketing, as President of Texaco Chemical and as Vice Chairman of Huntsman Chemical. He currently serves as President and CEO of Enterprise GP Holdings LP, a Houston-based Energy company.  Ralph serves on the Boards of several publicly-traded domestic and international corporations.

Albert Hugo-Martinez - Chairman of the Board of Directors. Provides invaluable management and international business-building experience with over 30 years' experience in the electronics industry, most recently as CEO of GTI Corporation and before that of AMCC, COO of Burr Brown, and Operations Manager for Motorola Semiconductor. Albert currently serves on the Board of Directors of Microchip Technology, UCSD Cancer Center, RF Power Devices Corporation and Reaction Design. He also serves as advisor to several other universities and companies.

David Klipstein, Ph. D. –  Founder and Member of the Board.  Has over 35 years of chemical industry experience in planning, technology development and commercialization. Most recently as Sr. VP for Technology and Marketing for Biosym Technologies, Dr. Klipstein brought in initial venture capital, used industry consortia to establish the company as the world leader in molecular modeling and helped sell the company to Corning for $100 Million. Recently he chaired the Vision 2020 Study of New Directions in Reaction Engineering for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Neil RappaportMember of the Board. Provides extensive experience to early-stage, high-growth companies as General Partner of Windward Ventures, a classic venture capital firm in Southern California.  He was Vice President of Sales for Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation. Previously, Mr. Rappaport was national sales manager with Applied Micro Circuits Corporation. He began his career as a design engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company.

Rolf Reitz, Ph. D.Member of the Board. Is A Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a former director of the internationally recognized Engine Research Center there. Previously, he was a researcher at General Motors. Dr. Reitz provides insight into the latest research and trends in automotive engine design.

Jeff TezaMember of the Board. Provides guidance in operating an enterprise software business, having served as Chairman and CEO of Syntricity, a venture-backed semiconductor yield management software company.  He was a co-founder and Vice President of Brooktree Corporation.
